# Set a Club Registration Opening Date

Some schools want students to browse clubs ahead of the club fair but only sign up on the day itself. Club Registration lets you set one opening date for your whole school. Until that date students can see every club, but they cannot join.

## Before you begin

* You must be an administrator. Club leaders and faculty advisors do not see this setting.
* The date applies to every club at your school. You cannot set a different date for an individual club.
* Students who already belong to a club stay in it. The date only affects new joins.

## Set the opening date

1. Go to **Settings** and select **Club Settings**.
2. Scroll down to **Club Registration**.
3. Turn on **Do you want to set a date when students can start joining clubs?**
4. Under **Club registration opens on**, choose your date. You can pick today or any later date.
5. Select **Save**.

The line below the date picker confirms what is in place, for example "Students can browse clubs but can't join until September 23, 2026".

## What students see

Before the opening date, the **Join Club** button on every club page is replaced by a notice showing the date registration opens. Students can still open club pages, read the description, and see events.

On the opening date the notice disappears and **Join Club** comes back on its own. You do not need to do anything that morning.

Administrators keep seeing **Join Club** on club pages, so the notice will not appear in your own account. If you want to confirm what students see, check with a student rather than from your admin login.

## Adding members before the date

The date stops students joining on their own. It does not stop you. Club leaders and administrators can still invite members directly or add them to a club at any point before the opening date.

## Turn it off

Turn the toggle off. The date is cleared, a "Date removed" confirmation appears, and students can join right away.

## Good to know

* Joins made through the Club Fair kiosk are not affected by the opening date. If you run the kiosk before your date, students can still join through it.
* A club that has reached its member limit stays closed to new members after the opening date. The member limit is a separate setting.
